CME on Neurological Assessment(Peadiatric and Adult) and PT Management

Dear friends,

Its a great pleasure to let you know that we would be organising a CME on 5th and 6th of December 2009. The details regarding the same will very soon be updated. This is a 2 days CME which would provide skills to the students to know more on Assessment and some advanced PT Management techniques.

Objectives: This CME would help students to understand the different evaluation procedures.(Adult Neurological Examination ,Higher Mental Function - Cognitive and Perceptual evaluation, Motor Examination, Balance, Gait, Coordination, Child developmental milestones Neurological Evaluation of infant, Sensory testing, etc. ) Neurological PT management techniques in adult and peadiatrics like NDT, PNF, SI,Brunnstrom’s, MRP, Pediatric tapping,and various other techinques. This is a basic course to understand the PT management of Neurological disorders.


COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course covers neurological Evaluation and PT management.

Objectives of the CME:-

Following this course, the therapists will be able to:

The participant will demonstrate an understanding of the Neurological Evaluation (pediatric and adult)

The participant will demonstrate an understanding of the application of recent advanced physiotherapy techniques.

The participant will demonstrate psychomotor skills for applying these techniques.

The participants will demonstrate the understanding of the use of standardized evaluation tools.

The participant will be able to develop a treatment plan and progression with adequate understanding of neurological evaluation and physiotherapy management.

3-4 Months after the basic course there would also be an advanced course on the PT Management of Neurological Disorders. The dates for the Advanced course would be announced later on. After completion of basic course only the students may attend the advanced course or PT's with 2-3 years of experience only.

The Registration fee for the said course is 700 Rupees till 20th Nov 2009.
Post 21th November-4th December 09 1000 Rupees.
Spot registration fee 1200 Rupees.
Last date of registration- 30 November 2009

About the Speaker

Nalin Kumar
A Physiotherapist with P.G Diploma in Developmental Therapy from AADI, Delhi University. He holds Eunice Kennedy Shriver Fellowship from Special Olympics International, USA. He is presently working with Latika Roy Foundation, Dehradun. He has been successfully running “Family Physiotherapy Clinic” in Dehradun. He is honorary PT with Special Olympics Bharat, Uttarakhand. He is a life member of IAP.

Arju Bala
A Physiotherapist with a Master in Physiotherapy (Neurological Disorders) from MAHE, Manipal University. She is working with children at the age group of 0-5 years @ Early Intervention Centre, Latika Roy Foundation. She provides her expert opinion with patients with Neurological impairments at the “Family Physiotherapy Clinic, Dehradun. She is also a Life Member of IAP.

Dr. A.S Murti
A post graduate Physiotherapist presently working with AIIMS, New Delhi. He has a vast experience teaching students of Physiotherapy. He has worked at different rehabilitation centers. An expert PT with more than 10 years of experience. He is also a Life Member of IAP.

Dr. Balaji
A post graduate Physiotherapist with immense knowlege on Neurological PT. He has done several researches and been faculty of MPT Neuro PT at various Colleges in Delhi. Presently he is working with a reputed Hospital.

Eligibility: D.P.T with 2-3 years experience, B.P.T- 3rd, Final year and interns. M.P.T students. Faculties and PT's working are welcome to join us. Allied Health Science – Occupational Therapy, Developmental Therapy, Rehabilitation Therapists ,Medical Science students
